The Ray Charles Tribute (RCT): Update!

RCT premiered on April 29, 2006 for the annual Heritage Festival; presented by the
CSUMB Music and Performing Arts (MPA) Institute.
Here is a video clip of the recent Monterey Tribute Ensemble premiere of "For the Love of Ray".

Recent Professional Theatre Experience

The Ray Charles Tribute project combined a cast of 48 musicians and singers from Central Coast areas including Seaside, Sand City, Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove, Big Sur and Santa Cruz. It reached across the USA as far as Floridato complete the exquisite "For the Love of Ray" CD.

Katie Birdsall scribed vocal and choir arrangements that can enhance other community productions of the RCT project.


Lee Durley, radio personality and singing sensation sings a smooth and gorgeous "You Don't Know Me".
"Hit the Road, Jack" song sung by 8-yr old Dhani is already a major hit with some tiny tots and oldsters, alike.
Broadway Blues-John Tucker does some serious gritty singing on "Blackjack".
Dino Vera does complete vocal justice to "Georgia".
Alligator gives "Busted" a righteous fit!
Daniel Simpson takes the impossible to duplicate Chris Cain rendition of "Don't Say Naw" to the thinnest air of even higher vocal heights.
